HISTORY
MOLASSES, a by-product from the production of sugar, has been known to mankind for almost 3000 years and was first imported into Belfast from the Americas during the early18th century.
The United Molasses Company was established in 1926 and today United Molasses (Ireland) Ltd, based in the Port of Belfast, supplies animal feed manufacturers and farmers from modern, dockside storage facilities only minutes from the Ulster M2 motorway.
QUALITY
AS part of the farm and food sector UMI makes your peace of mind our priority and ensures quality control standards far exceed industry standards. Raw materials purchased through a fully audited supply chain are sourced from approved suppliers we have known for many years.
Committed to supplying only molasses of consistently high quality UMI conducts hygiene checks on all raw materials, including tests for Salmonella. All molasses is double filtered before dispatch to customers and only dedicated production lines and road tankers are used thus curtailing any risk of cross contamination.
